Heinrich Heine / DJ
I was born in the middle of lower saxony and still live here. My love for music started at an early age. In the late 60ies I got interested in Bluegrass & Country Music. It was not easy to find a station in Germany, which played this kind of music. In those days you were lucky to find a shop, where you can buy a Johnny Cash record or a John Denver. And that was it.
Over the years I got more into the music, found friends with the same taste for Bluegrass and Country.
My first live show was 1974 Bill Clifton & Hedy West in a British Military Officers Bar in Verden / Aller.
Me and my friends were changing audio-cassettes, where we recorded our new records. In times were we had no computers, laptops or I-phones, these were our first so called podcasts.
In the beginning 70’s I went to Country & Bluegrass Festivals. 1975 I met Bill Monroe & The Bluegrass Boys in Neusüdende, near Oldenburg. This Festival I visited for over 30 Years til it broke up.
My love for Bluegrass & Country Music brings me to collect many records, CD’s and Cassettes. Also I tried to record many live-shows on my home recorder, so I have the great honor to use them now.
In the last years where hearing Bluegrass Music hearing „live“ is hard in Germany I invented Lorraine’s Coffee House & Music. Very shortly I became a regular listener and learned to use FB while listening to the show.
I want to thank Doug Whitley for making me a fan of THE BLUEGRASS JAMBOREE and Lorraine’s Coffee House & Music. Since November 22th, 2025 I host HENRY’s OLD COUNTRY STORE Show.
I am so excited and thankful to join The Bluegrass Jamboree. Annette Grady & Ron Ackermann do an awesome job and has a great thing going here. I’m honored to be a part of it. Join me at The Bluegrass Jamboree on Saturday morning from 5-8.
